ALKETT Sturmgeschütz III Late & Final Tow Cable Clamps
cults3d
The late tow cable clamps started to be used on ALKETT manufactured Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. Gs around June 1944. The final, wider tow cable clamps started to appear around December 1944/January 1945. Whether these wider clamps were factory applied or field modifications is uncertain. The final clamps were primarily seen on the Eastern front, and they were sized so they could hold Soviet tow cables from T-34 tanks and assault guns. Variations of the two types of clamps are included. These variations include wingnuts at various rotations, and open clamps with tops and wingnuts at various angles/rotations. I noticed that the wingnuts are particularly susceptible to breaking off during the cleaning process, so I have included extra wingnuts, both as individual .STLs and as a raft of 16 of each variation ready to print. The difference between the two types is the amount of threaded rod protruding from the top to depict tightened or loosened wingnuts.
