This baby has it all: bucket seats that keep you firmly in place, a convertible top perfect for cruising down Earth roads, and a massive interstellar thruster that gets you to your destination quickly. Be the envy of everyone around you and major governments.*\n*Some assembly required.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand:\n Ultimaker\n Printer: Ultimaker Original\n Rafts: No\n Supports: No\n Resolution: 0.2\n Infill: 20%\n Notes:\n I've included an STL file for the main body in one big piece, but I highly recommend printing each section separately and gluing them together to minimize support requirements. This model was designed from the start to be sanded and coated with automotive body filler (Bondo), but you can complete it however you like.\nPost-Printing\nThe not-so-fun part...\nUnless you print this very small, you'll likely have to print out nine main body parts, wings, a thruster, and seats, then glue them all together. I went the extra mile by applying multiple coats of Bondo, sanding, priming, and painting.\nI lined the interior with felt and used it to upholster the seats as well. The underside of the seats features Velcro, allowing them to stick to the interior felt but remain removable and repositionable.\n Way too thick on the Bondo - please don't make this mistake!\n Sanded down.\n After many coats of Bondo and primer, with occasional primer sprays to achieve a uniform color for better low-spot detection.\n Wings and thruster glued on. I used Welder contact adhesive throughout the project.\nHow I Designed This\nThis was designed entirely in Sketchup. I employed a plugin called "Curviloft," which can merge several plane outlines into a single solid, allowing me to create only a few 2D "slices" of the craft at regular intervals from front to back and let the plugin fill in the gaps. The model is included in the files for anyone who wants to modify or add to it.
