Alien Lithopane Display Stand
thingiverse
This mini LED display uses an affordable LED tea light held by an alien figure designed by Icenvain, creator of many amazing models online. Kudos to him for designing such a fantastic alien! I utilized a submersible light that's perfect for underwater use and has a clear lens. This is ideal because the alien is positioned at a distance where it can utilize this focal length effectively. To add some extra flair, I included crop circle designs and characters from an unknown alien alphabet to decorate the base of the display. You'll also find an unaltered version of the base with all the files included. When printing, use your slicer to insert pauses before layer 3 to swap filament colors and achieve a translucent effect for the alien's alphabet and crop circles. Insert another pause around layer 21 or so to change colors again and make the alien figure stand out. This mini LED display is designed to be used with a lithopane created using the "outer curve" selection on 3dp.rocks, with a model size of 100mm. The included example lithopane features Ripley from "Alien 3".
