Alien Jockey Commemorative Bust / Model

This commemorative bust honors the late great H.R Giger. Want to give your printer a real challenge? If you have a resin based printer, show what it can do! (I wish I did!) The original model was created by the incredibly talented Sean Kennedy in Lightwave over ten years ago. Admittingly, I spent an excessive amount of time converting this printable into something workable. After H.R Giger passed away on May 13th, I decided to push myself: What is the most impressive, detailed Alien model I can make or find? That's when I came across Sean's model from years ago, and I was thrilled to rediscover it. The model was originally designed as an animation backdrop, so many parts were single-sided and lacked full meshes. This meant I had to rebuild them manually, which led to a massive amount of polygons. When processed from Lightwave's format, the mesh can weigh hundreds of megabytes - even on high-end computers, the file size is staggering. I recall struggling with camera settings that pushed my 8-core CPU to its limits. To put it simply, on a machine with 32gigs of Ram, decimating this model caused Zbrush to crash multiple times - a rare occurrence for such a robust software. Please read the instructions carefully for printing tips and advice.
