Alien Head Knife Block

Alien Head Knife Block

thingiverse

This is a knife block inspired by the Giger Alien Head design.\nThe original model was remixed from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:579768 and then customized in Tinkercad to fit my printer's bed diagonally with additional slots for the knives.\nIt was printed on an Anet A8 0.3mm layer height using Cura 15, which provided supports overhanging sections.\nThe finish was completed by covering it with black nail polish, hiding the printing grooves effectively.\nTo add extra details, I mixed Black, Clear, Yellow and Silver nail polish together.\nThe total cost of making this knife block was approximately £8.\nUPDATE: To prevent overhangs, the block was divided into two parts. This may require joining or filling the join but it will save support filament and reduce printing time.\nIt can also be scaled up larger to fit smaller build areas.\nPrint Settings:\nPrinter: Anet A8\nRafts: No\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: 0.3mm\nInfill: 15%
