Alien_Beer

My first try at organic modeling, I used the amazing head from Ideaform3D https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:579768. A simple yet cool Aliens Beer Bottle Opener was created. Using a coin for leverage is essential. Update: v6 - A lot cooler and fits better to the bottle with an angle on the underside. Update: v5 - Now designed in support that you can leave on the model, no need for supports anymore. There are two variants in the files: one for UK 5p coins and one for US 1 cent coins. Other variants can be made on request. Do not apply pressure to the legs when opening a bottle; they will break. Use the crossbar and body for leverage instead, as shown in the pictures. A precise tolerance is set to push the coins in and create a tight fit. Ensure you can print bridges at least 20mm long. Some people have successfully dropped the coin coated with glue stick if you pause the print; I haven't tried this yet. See the picture for the best method to push the coin in. The coin should stick out by only 5.5mm. The s3d factory files have been added, as well as my PLA fff file (set for the CR-10) if it helps. All Tacblades designs are tested and printed before posting. As a long-time 3D printing enthusiast, I've created all designs with 3D printing in mind from the beginning, minimizing support and angles designed to print easily.
