Alicia's Abacus

Alicia's Abacus

On March 10th 2013 my daughters Alicia and Cara were eager attendees of my very first 3D Printing Class. We decided it was time for me to bring Alicia's dream project to life - an abacus perfectly suited for her cherished doll. With precision, we measured out the desired size and tracked down suitable nails that matched our requirements, setting us up for success in designing and printing this masterpiece. Although I initially tried utilizing Tony Buser's esteemed pins library, it unfortunately fell short of my expectations - possibly due to underestimating the pin lengths required. To ensure the abacus held together seamlessly, I relied on a hot glue gun to fuse the two sides together with outstanding results. If you choose to replicate this project, be prepared to adapt and fine-tune by experimenting with various pin arrangements or resorting to a hot glue gun for securing. Now that we've overcome any obstacles, let's dive into the project specifics - I recommend that you too anticipate making some adjustments as needed when attempting to bring this 3D printing vision to life.
