As the future of energy, hydrogen production has a lot of problems. Mostly, hydrogen is produced with hazardous chemical substances, toxic materials, and a very high operating temperature. Therefore, a greener and safer method to produce Hydrogen is needed in order to make Hydrogen as a sustainable future energy. One of the solutions is by producing a Green hydrogen from Algae through direct photolysis and dark fermentation. The photolysis reaction will use Algae to dissociate water into hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of light (reaction: H2O → H2 + 1/2 O2). This reaction will occur in a vacuumed condition to make the hydrogenase enzyme active, making it able to produce hydrogen. The photolysis reaction will last no more than 24 hours and at the end of the reaction, all of the Algae will be dead. The dead Algae will be fed into the bioreactor to produce more hydrogen for the system with the help of microorganism. Then, hydrogen produced from both reactions will be collected to use in the fuel cell to produce electricity. Moreover, Algae used in these processes produce little amount of greenhouse gases. Making this a new step to produce hydrogen through a cleaner and safer methods that promotes the sustainability of Hydrogen in the future
