As the standard filament guide brushes against the body of the micro-switch for filament run out, it prevents this from occurring. Other such guides exist on Thungiverse, but they lack moving parts and the filament begins to squeak in the walls of the guide after only a few minutes. With rollers, this issue is resolved. I applied some thin oil (from my bike) to grease the axes at the beginning and everything has been smooth and quiet for several weeks already.
