myminifactory
This life-sized marble masterpiece was crafted by Charles-François Lebœuf, known as Nanteuil (9 August 1792 – 1 November 1865), a renowned French sculptor. Completed in 1836, it portrays Alexander The Great, a legendary leader of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and member of the Argead dynasty. Born in Pella in 356 BC, Alexander seized power from his father Philip II at twenty years old and embarked on a groundbreaking military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa. By thirty, he had forged one of history's largest empires, spanning Greece to Egypt and into northwest India, with an unblemished record of victories. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest military strategists in human history.
