Strategically placed vents surround the entire microphone perimeter, allowing the dot to accurately pick up your voice. For an added glow effect when the dot wakes up, try using some translucent filament - I highly recommend printing with infill for optimal results. My current model was printed without infill and, while it glows beautifully, there are some noticeable rough spots due to overhangs. The 'stone' look base is designed to allow sound to travel through. To achieve the best results, print this by standing it upright on the flat end. It requires minimal infill and can be printed successfully without it, except for some detailed features at the front that might get lost without support. When combined, these two parts add a striking look to your Echo dot while still providing complete access to the plugs and Amazon logo on the front when closely examined.
