Aleph Objects Clamp X-ends

To avoid cast x-ends while retaining the appeal of clamp style designs, we invented new interchangeable x-ends compatible with Prusa or cast Clonedel equivalents. These innovative x-ends use boltable PLA bushings and require additional hardware such as eight M3 20mm self-tapping screws (SHCS), eight M3 12mm SHCS, and twenty-four M3 washers plus sixteen M3 Nyloc nuts (or standard nuts). Instead of glue, the PLA bushings are boltable. You can access these boltable bushings at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10647. Additionally, we've designed an Igus bushings holder for these x-ends available here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13229. The licensing includes GPLv3 for parts and files and CC BY SA for images. Assembling the x-end requires two clamps, one idler end, and one motor end. Start by bolting the PLA bushings onto the x-ends with 12mm screws and nuts, then bolt on the clamp ends with 20mm screws (leave them loose initially). Finally, tighten down the clamps after the x-end is assembled.
