I wanted to find the perfect gift for my grandfather, something truly special for Christmas. So I turned to a clever online tool(http://www.selva3d.com/) that allowed me to transform a jpeg image of his favorite logo into an stl file in just a few clicks. Next, I opened up the stl in SketchUp and got to work on cleaning up some of the mesh errors and strengthening the point where the triangle met at the center. The two pictures you see above were printed using SainSmart Aluminum PLA with 15% infill on my trusty CoreXY printer, which was equipped with an e3d v6 hotend and a precision 0.4mm nozzle.
