This is a scan of my Alchemy Gothic :: Omega Skull, http://www.alchemygothic.com/index.php?option=com_ag_cat_bridge&agpage=i_ASS51_Omega_Skull.html&Itemid=105. My first attempt at Photogrammetry was done with 'Agisoft PhotoScan'. I also used 'Blender' for the first time in this project. The entire process took roughly 15 hours to complete. About 7 hours were spent waiting for 'Agisoft PhotoScan' to do its magic. This software is incredibly easy to use, and getting amazing results is as simple as following a few steps. I used a tutorial from a YouTube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEsRcFQ1_H8. About 5 hours were spent with 'Blender 2.76b', making the model solid, creating a flat bottom, and smoothing out some bumpy areas in the eyesockets. I normally only use 'SketchUp' for my projects, but it wasn't an option this time around. An additional 3.5 hours were spent printing. The print was done on my K8200 with E3DV6 and auto tramming. The settings used were: 3mm PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, and a layer height of 0.25mm. The extruder temperature was set to 200c, while the bed temperature was set to 60c. The print fan was disabled due to a malfunction. The model was scaled to 65mm in height. I wanted to create a full-size version, but with inconsistent PLA between 2.75mm and 3.05mm and a print time of 16 hours, it will have to wait for another project. The print speed was set to 60 mm/s. No support material was used. Rafts were employed instead. Three outer perimeters were created, along with two solid top and bottom layers. The infill was set at 20%. Overall, I'm very pleased with the result.
