In 2017, during maintenance work on a water collector on Colegios Street, a 40-meter stretch of the 16th-century sewer system in Alcalá de Henares surfaced. The brick and mortar construction had about half a meter diameter and was part of Cisneros' modernization project that began in Complutense City. Today, this small section is preserved and displayed in a nearby park adjacent to its discovery site.
