Albert Einstein String Art
prusaprinters
Inspired by 3D Print Bunny's popular string art I tried to create what string art was originally known for - creating images using intersection and contrast to present an image to viewer. So I spent 2 months manually creating bridge after bridge after a bridge after a bridge… Just kidding, I spent 3 months. Ok, for real now, I created a script that converts string positions into bridges and combines it into single print. To prevent bridges intersecting in mid air I was forced to increase z-height. Eventually I limited the height to reasonable 100 mm. And yes, there is a room for optimization in this regards. This height also resulted in single viewing angle, which is kinda cool, if you look on the print from the side the image will get hidden, you will see bridge mayhem and all is left to your imagination. There is a space for LED strip in the back for better visibility. When you install the LED strip put the print against a wall so the light is reflected back. Maximum width of the strip is 10 mm and LED density is not very important. This print is difficult to print with max bridge span of 20cm (sorry), the smaller the bridge length the more difficult is to display image which is viewable and easy to see. Print this at your own risk of breaking stuff, having a depression and hating your printer. I am not responsible for any therapist or medication expenses.Printing recommendation0.2 mm layer heightblack filament colorPLA recommendedsufficient coolingbrimIf you like this project press the like button, have a look at my other projects like this Hole Bowl or have a look at my exclusive models and support me by joining my club!Cheers!Luke
