I created this 3D scan of Albert Einstein's iconic bust from the Usher Gallery and The Collection in Lincoln, UK. Made by Artur Loewenthal in 1930, the original bronze sculpture was captured through advanced technology courtesy of Oliver Laric in 2013. My goal was to produce a large-scale digital replica matching the original piece's size - an impressive 34 cm high. Deciding to minimize material usage and printing time, I designed the model with an inner cavity. Breaking it into 9 segments enabled easier assembly, reducing labor and materials required. Upon completion, each section was given weight through infill using gypsum. For those printing, the provided original file is too large. STL hollow and divided into 9 parts are necessary. Simply attaching pieces one through four to one another followed by joining numbers five through nine secures completion. Do not pay attention to labeled markings on some components as these provide little aid in reassembly. A key finishing touch was using acetone to smooth edges between two connected segments. Subsequently filling those areas with a sturdy plaster, providing an increased weight comparable to authentic statue-like construction. Upon thorough application of coats and careful preparation by applying paint or sanding down rough parts of the print one gets the bronze color needed on most statue's made from Bronze
