This sculpture by Artur Lowenthal was crafted in the 20th Century and captures Albert Einstein's likeness. A renowned German-born theoretical physicist and philosopher of science, Einstein formulated the general theory of relativity, one of modern physics' two fundamental pillars (alongside quantum mechanics). He is widely recognized for his mass-energy equivalence formula E = mc^2, a formula dubbed "the world's most famous equation." In 1921, Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics "for his contributions to theoretical physics and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect," a breakthrough that significantly contributed to quantum theory development.
