History: The Albatros D.V was a fighter aircraft used by the Imperial German Air Service during World War I. Production began in 1917 and ended in early 1918, resulting in the construction of around 2500 D.V and D.Va aircraft. It was similar to the D.III but had a different shaped fuselage and lower wing. Despite some structural issues, it remained one of the best German aircraft of the war. The Albatros D.V was eventually replaced by the Fokker D.VII.
