Two Piece Cookie Cutter is a highly versatile tool that can be used to work with dough of varying thicknesses. It functions by creating an outside cut shape while simultaneously stamping a design on the inside. To get started, roll out your dough to the desired thickness on parchment paper, turning and dusting it lightly as you go to prevent sticking. Once your dough is rolled out, dust its surface with flour. Next, dip the halves of your Two Piece Cookie Cutter in flour and gently shake off any excess. Be sure to avoid building up too much flour in small areas - if this happens, simply remove the excess with a toothpick. Re-dip your cutter's halves in flour between each use to ensure optimal results. To cut out shapes, place the outside edge of your cookie cutter on top of the dough and press down firmly while using the previously cut edges to center the cutter. Press the stamp into the surface lightly, applying just enough pressure to add the design without causing the dough to stick - aim for a depth of around 2-3mm. Once you've added your design, remove the cookie cutter's halves using the finger holes provided. Next, lift out your cut-out shape with a kitchen bench scraper that has been lightly floured and transfer it to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. One popular rolled-out cookie dough recipe requires no refrigeration. To make it, you'll need: - 1 cup of softened butter (not melted) - 1 cup of granulated sugar - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons of baking powder - 2 and 3/4 cups of flour To prepare the dough, cream together your butter and sugar in a mixer until well combined. Add an egg and mix until smooth, then add your vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder). Slowly incorporate these into your wet ingredients, taking care not to overmix. Once your dough is prepared, form it into balls and roll out each one on lightly floured parchment paper. Use your Two Piece Cookie Cutter to cut out shapes, then transfer them to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake your cookies at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-12 minutes, depending on their size and thickness, or until they're golden brown.
