Aladdin Thermos Stand

Aladdin Thermos Stand

I traded my trusty 15-year-old truck for a sleek '18 sedan. My old ride was spacious enough to hold a Big Gulp-sized coffee container, which I'd lovingly transport to work every morning. Unfortunately, the new sedan's compact interior forced me to switch to a conventional thermos, but that brought its own set of problems. The thermos would slide back and forth on the floor as I turned or accelerated/braked, driving me crazy. I decided to take matters into my own hands and design a stand to keep my morning coffee stable during commutes. I built it using a non-slip drawer liner in a container, which I place on top of the stand. Now, instead of the thermos rolling around, the entire container shifts slightly as I drive. Let me be clear: this project wasn't about precision or perfection. I whipped up the design in Autodesk123D, and it works well enough for my needs. The pieces aren't symmetrical, but that didn't seem to matter since function is more important than form in this case. If someone else finds themselves in a similar situation, they likely won't be concerned with aesthetics either, so I'm sharing my creation with the hope that it might help others who need something like this.
