Alabama Crimson Tide Plaque

A buddy of mine recently asked if I could create a statue of Big Al, the iconic Alabama Crimson Tide mascot. Unfortunately, I'm not proficient in organic modeling, and I couldn't find a pre-made file of Big Al or even an elephant with "Crimson Tide" written on it. However, I did stumble upon this elephant coat hanger by antontre, which I used as a starting point for my creation. I combined the coat hanger with my own design to come up with this beautiful plaque that any die-hard Tide fan would be proud to showcase. To give you an idea of what it looks like, I've included three different models. One model features the Alabama "A" on a banner draped around it, with "Crimson Tide" printed on the banner in a wooden-type font. The second model incorporates the plaque with the elephant for added depth and dimension. After taking another look at it, I decided that the elephant was too small, so I created a third version with a larger elephant. I'm planning to print this out this week as soon as my white filament arrives, and I'll update the photo with a picture of the actual printed item then. One thing to keep in mind is that this model needs to be printed with supports enabled everywhere. The plaque was designed using Sketchup, where both the plaque and the elephant were combined using MeshLab. The model was then run through Netfabb Basic for some light cleanup before it was ready for printing.
