Alabama Crimson Tide Plaque

A friend of mine asked me if I could create a statue of Big Al, the iconic Alabama Crimson Tide mascot. Unfortunately, my skills in organic modeling are limited, and I couldn't find a pre-made file of Big Al to work with. Not even an elephant with the words "Crimson Tide" would suffice. What I did discover was this elephant coat hanger by antontre, which sparked an idea for a unique plaque that any die-hard Tide fan would be proud to display. I've included three models: one featuring the Alabama "A" with a banner draped around it and "Crimson Tide" printed on the banner on a wooden-type plaque. The second model combines the plaque with the elephant for added depth, while the third version boasts a larger elephant to meet my own standards of quality. This week, I'll be printing this design once my white filament arrives, and I'll update the photo with a picture of the actual print. Due to a Thingiverse glitch or possible shadowbanning, my models no longer appear under the "Newest" listings. To see more of my designs, simply follow me. Print Settings: This model requires printing with supports enabled throughout for optimal results. Design Process: The plaque was crafted in Sketchup, where I combined both the plaque and elephant using MeshLab. A quick pass through Netfabb Basic ensured a smooth finish.
