Al-Thuqaibah thrived as an Iron Age II settlement for a full millennium, stretching from 1000 BCE all the way down to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid, it dominates the southern end of Al Madam oasis within the central part of the Sharjah Emirate in the United Arab Emirates. Over the past three decades, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have thoroughly investigated this ancient site, unearthing mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and telling evidence of intricate mud-brick manufacture. Hundreds of preserved footprints remain perfectly intact at the bottom of small basins, a testament to the lives of those who once walked here. GDH has meticulously completed high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document the basins and the preserved features within them. This is basin 9, processed in Reality Capture from an astonishing 337 images.
