Al-Thuqaibah - Basin 8

Al-Thuqaibah stretches back to Iron Age II, spanning a period of 1000 to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid, this ancient settlement takes its place at the southern end of Al Madam oasis within the central part of Sharjah Emirate in the United Arab Emirates. Over the past three decades, it has been thoroughly investigated by archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain, revealing mud-brick houses, gardens, and evidence of extensive mud-brick manufacture. Hundreds of preserved footprints remain intact at the bottom of small basins, carefully preserved in the mud. Archaeological experts from GDH have successfully completed high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document the basins and their unique features. This particular basin 8 has been processed using Reality Capture from a total of 341 images.
