sketchfab
Al-Thuqaibah settlement dates back to Iron Age II, spanning 1000 to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid at the southern tip of Al Madam oasis in central Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, this archaeological site has been extensively researched over the past 30 years by teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain. Their excavations have uncovered intact mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and evidence of a thriving mud-brick industry. Hundreds of well-preserved footprints remain visible in the mud at the bottom of small basins, a testament to the site's rich history. High-resolution scanning and photogrammetry were employed by GDH to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features, with basin 7 being reconstructed from 315 images using Reality Capture technology.
