Al-Thuqaibah - Basin 55
sketchfab
Al-Thuqaibah thrives as a prime Iron Age II settlement, flourishing from 1000 to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid at the southern tip of Al Madam oasis, it commands the central part of the Sharjah Emirate in the United Arab Emirates. For three decades, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have probed its secrets, unearthing mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and telling evidence of skilled mud-brick craftsmanship. Deep within small basins, hundreds of remarkably preserved footprints remain stuck fast in the mud. The Global Digital Heritage (GDH) has meticulously captured high-resolution scans and photogrammetry to chronicle the basins and their protected features. This is basin 55, masterfully processed in Reality Capture from 170 vivid images.
