Al-Thuqaibah is an Iron Age II settlement that flourished from 1000 BCE down to 600 BCE. Strategically situated south of Dhaid, this ancient site occupies the southern end of Al Madam oasis within the central part of the Sharjah Emirate in the United Arab Emirates. Over the past three decades, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have meticulously excavated the site, unearthing numerous mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and tangible evidence of sophisticated mud-brick manufacturing techniques. Hundreds of well-preserved footprints are embedded in the mud at the bottom of small basins, providing a unique glimpse into the lives of ancient inhabitants. GDH has successfully employed cutting-edge high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features. These include basin 52, which was painstakingly processed in Reality Capture using an impressive array of 306 images.
