sketchfab
Al-Thuqaibah is a major Iron Age II settlement that flourished from 1000 to 600 BCE. Strategically situated south of Dhaid, at the southern end of Al Madam oasis in central Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, it has been extensively explored by archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain over the last three decades. Their excavations have uncovered numerous mud-brick houses, beautifully landscaped gardens, and compelling evidence of ancient mud-brick manufacturing techniques. Impressively, hundreds of well-preserved footprints remain intact in the muddy bottoms of small basins, a testament to the site's rich history. The Global Digital Heritage (GDH) organization has employed advanced high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry technologies to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features. This particular image, basin 49, was processed using Reality Capture from an impressive collection of 557 images.
