Al-Thuqaibah is a thriving Iron Age II settlement that flourishes from 1000 BCE all the way down to 600 BCE. Strategically situated south of Dhaid, it occupies the southern end of Al Madam oasis in the central part of Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. Over the past 30 years, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have meticulously investigated this site, unearthing numerous mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and significant evidence of ancient mud-brick manufacturing techniques. Hundreds of preserved footprints remain intact in the mud at the bottom of small basins, serving as a testament to the daily lives of its inhabitants. The Global Digital Heritage team has successfully completed high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features, showcasing remarkable images from basin 48 processed in Reality Capture using an impressive 691 photographs.
