Al-Thuqaibah is a sprawling Iron Age II settlement dating back around 1,400 years to 1000-600 BCE. Situated in the southern region of Dhaid, at the southeastern corner of the Al Madam oasis within the Sharjah Emirate's central area, United Arab Emirates. For nearly three decades, archaeologists from Sharjah, France, and Spain have extensively explored this site, unearthing intricately constructed mud-brick homes, lush gardens, and evidence of a thriving mud-brick production industry. Beneath the surface of shallow basins lie hundreds of remarkably preserved human footprints, frozen in time. A collaborative effort between GDH experts has led to the creation of high-resolution scans and photogrammetric models documenting these basins and their contents using advanced Reality Capture technology from 740 precision images, revealing detailed features of basins 42 and 46.
