Al-Thuqaibah - Basin 35
sketchfab
Al-Thuqaibah spans a thousand years, from 1000 to 600 BCE, as an Iron Age II settlement. Located south of Dhaid at the southern end of Al Madam oasis in central Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, it has been thoroughly investigated over the past thirty years by archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain. These teams have uncovered mud-brick houses, gardens, and crucial evidence of mud-brick manufacture. Hundreds of preserved footprints remain frozen in time at the bottom of small basins, hidden beneath layers of mud. Advanced scanning technology has been employed to meticulously document these features by GDH, resulting in high-resolution images and photogrammetry. Basin 35 was recently processed using Reality Capture from an impressive 261 images, capturing every intricate detail within its confines.
