Al-Thuqaibah is a sprawling Iron Age II settlement that dates back an impressive 400 years, spanning from 1000 to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid, at the southern tip of Al Madam oasis in Sharjah Emirate's central region, United Arab Emirates, it has been meticulously explored by seasoned archaeological teams over the last three decades. Researchers from Sharjah, France, and Spain have made groundbreaking discoveries, including remnants of mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and evidence of sophisticated mud-brick manufacturing techniques. Uncovered in the muddy bottoms of small basins are hundreds of remarkably preserved footprints, a testament to the site's fascinating history. A team led by GDH utilized cutting-edge high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry technology to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features, producing stunning results from 355 images processed through Reality Capture software in basin 24.
