Al-Thuqaibah, a thriving Iron Age II settlement, thrived from 1000 to 600 BCE. Situated south of Dhaid at the southern tip of Al Madam oasis, nestled in the heart of the Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, this ancient community has been extensively explored by archaeological teams over the past 30 years. These teams, hailing from Sharjah, France, and Spain, have uncovered a treasure trove of discoveries, including intricately crafted mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and evidence of advanced mud-brick manufacturing techniques. The rich history of Al-Thuqaibah is further revealed through the presence of hundreds of preserved footprints embedded in the muddy bottoms of small basins. To document these remarkable features, GDH employed cutting-edge high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry techniques to capture the basins and their contents with precision. This impressive feat was achieved through the processing of 256 images using Reality Capture technology, resulting in a stunning visual representation of basin 21.
