Al-Thuqaibah, a sprawling Iron Age II settlement dating back 1,400 years, stretches from 1000 to 600 BCE. Nestled in the southern end of Al Madam oasis, this ancient community flourishes south of Dhaid within the central heart of the Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. For three decades, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have meticulously excavated Al-Thuqaibah, unearthing an array of mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and tangible evidence of sophisticated mud-brick manufacturing techniques. Hundreds of remarkably preserved footprints remain intact at the bottom of small basins, offering a unique glimpse into the lives of Al-Thuqaibah's ancient inhabitants. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, GDH has successfully employed high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document these basins and their preserved features, yielding stunning results from 599 meticulously captured images.
