Al-Thuqaibah is a significant Iron Age II settlement that dates back to 1000 to 600 BCE, boasting a rich history that spans millennia. Strategically situated south of Dhaid at the southern extremity of Al Madam oasis in central Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates, this ancient site has been extensively explored by archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain over the past three decades. Their meticulous excavations have uncovered a plethora of intriguing finds, including intricately constructed mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and evidence of skilled craftsmanship in mud-brick manufacture. Furthermore, hundreds of remarkably preserved footprints are visible at the bottom of small basins, providing valuable insights into the daily lives of ancient inhabitants. By harnessing cutting-edge technology, GDH has successfully completed high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry to meticulously document the basins and their preserved features. A prime example is basin 19, which has been processed in Reality Capture from an impressive 332 images, yielding a highly detailed and accurate representation of this ancient site.
