Al-Thuqaibah is a sprawling Iron Age II settlement that thrived for over 400 years, stretching from 1000 to 600 BCE. Nestled south of Dhaid at the southern tip of Al Madam oasis, this ancient hub lies in central Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. For three decades, archaeological teams from Sharjah, France, and Spain have delved into its secrets, unearthing remnants of mud-brick houses, lush gardens, and evidence of a thriving mud-brick industry. Hundreds of preserved footprints remain at the bottom of small basins, frozen in time like snapshots of lives long past. Advanced technologies were employed by GDH to meticulously document these ancient features through high-resolution scanning and photogrammetry. One such basin, number 17, has been carefully processed using Reality Capture from a staggering 133 images.
