A crucial thread on the original cap that seals the pumping chamber of an Al-ko JET F 1400 wore out, causing it to stop sealing properly. The replacement part, the "al-ko ersatzteil verschlussschraube 460150", is notoriously difficult to obtain or extremely pricey, a staggering 4€ for this small piece of plastic. A makeshift alternative cap/plug was fabricated, featuring a 1/4'' thread and something to manage it - in my case, a star-shaped gadget that I cobbled together as a makeshift solution. Hopefully, this DIY fix will also benefit others facing similar issues.
