My Akitio Thunder 2 eGPU setup with the MSI AERO GTX1060 6GB graphics card and dual Noctua 60mm fans still ran hot during gaming, even after some minor case modifications. I observed that the stock perforated cover on the Akitio Thunder enclosures was insufficient for this type of airflow. With this custom front cover, my fans now breathe more easily.
