As you're aware, Akitio Node is an exceptional eGPU box that boasts a notable feature: it can accommodate not only a full-sized GPU but also GPUs equipped with water cooling. However, its towering height, considerable size, and desk surface requirements make it less than ideal for some users. To address this issue, I proposed transforming the Akitio Node into a laptop cooling pad. This innovative solution allows the laptop screen to reach a comfortable viewing height, thereby eliminating neck strain and improving airflow beneath the enclosure due to the GPU's presence. To execute this modification, it's essential to lay the enclosure flat on its side, ensuring that cushioning is applied to the bottom surface to create space for the PSU to draw air and prevent scratching. The screws used are standard M3s.
