Akira Re-cut
thingiverse
Print with reduced supports and detach the weak nacelle joint. Duplicating tng_akira_class_aft(Cut2).stl creates a mirrored version for the opposite nacelle component. A photo showcases the assembled parts after applying primer. The model was printed on a Fabrikator mini using PLA material. UPDATE Noticeably, I removed the impulse engines from the saucer section during cleaning. They've been reattached now. If you've already printed the saucer, I uploaded the revised impulse engine file as akira_bit.stl for download. Duplicate and mirror it for the other side. Additional refinements have been made, but more work remains to be done before applying paint.
