Akiko is a Poser character adapted for 3D printing without support, such as on an MBI Replicator. Created by Travis Driscoll (aka leadingzer0), this model is based on Akiko by Joe Bushido from Renderosity.com and Daz's Victoria 4.2 base. Printable Akiko requires the popular "Victoria 4.2 Base" model from Daz, which can be found at http://www.daz3d.com/shop/victoria-4-2-base for $15. To obtain the .stl file, use Objaction Mover on the .pcf and the .obj of Victoria 4.2 Base model. This technique is commonly used in the Poser community with Daz's approval. Akiko is a challenging print due to her intricate details and overhanging features, but she's worth it. Printing at 0.1mm layer height requires proper cooling, such as using a small squirrel-cage fan blowing across the nozzle and newly laid filament. Be aware of potential weak points like where the right foot attaches to the stand, where the left hilt attaches to the hand, and the model being pulled over backward by the print head. Touchups may be needed on overhangs like the bottom-most point of handguards of the sword, scabbard attach straps, rear, base, tip of nose and chin, and the crotch. Despite these challenges, Akiko is an excellent benchmark print with impressive detail.
