I broke my AKG Y55 headphones' headband and decided to replace it with a new one that's not adjustable but similar to fully opened settings on the original headband. If you need to customize, check out the Onshape link: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/f991bc8caadb212f07ee11e5/w/ef2e7ad1c7649aaea8657328/e/4aeb20f3ade0f719fb79187b. This new headband is printed in PETG and works very well. To install the new headband, remove fake hex screw caps from the joints where the headphones are connected to the band. Then, remove the joint tap by hitting it with something like a thin nail. Next, open or break apart the original headband carefully without damaging the wire. Print out the parts and attach the headphones to the band using the same taps you removed earlier. Secure the wire to the slit on the headband using clips, then pull the wire tight so it won't flap around. As an optional step, add some drops of super glue to the slit and glue the wire in place. Finally, use hot glue to glue the fake hex caps back onto their original positions. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Use PETG. Support only between the "joint" area. Post-Printing: Remove the support.
