AKG K7 series Headphone Stand

There are countless headphone stands available, yet I've struggled to find one that effectively supports my AKG K7xx without putting undue strain on the bands or pads. This custom design is comprised of three distinct parts, carefully crafted to PRESS FIT TOGETHER seamlessly (optional glue application possible), with the bottom section serving as a safeguard against pad compression over time. My own headphones have developed an unmistakable angle due to prolonged compression, which this stand was specifically designed to prevent. The three components include the wall plate, extending rod, and bottom section, the latter of which is entirely optional but crucial for maintaining proper alignment. An additional extending rod without a recess is also available if you choose not to utilize the lower section. This design allows for flexibility in infill percentage, with the pictured example featuring 10% - although I admit it exhibits a slight fragility on the extending rod. I would recommend increasing this to 20-25% for added stability. The bottom section should be printed with at least 25% infill, but 10% is also an option if preferred. When assembling the stand, exercise extreme caution when inserting the parts into their respective slots, as the lower section's narrow width (.150in) makes it prone to snapping if bent with low infill. It's imperative that your printer is calibrated and capable of producing accurate-sized components. To ensure a precise fit, I've included images of my machinist's dial and recommended tolerances for the gaps and rod dimensions. The extending rod measures .4in x 1in, while the wall plate features a recess of identical proportions (.4in x 1in). The lower section of the stand (optional) is similarly dimensioned at .150in x 1in, with the slot on the extending rod mirroring these specifications. To achieve a snug fit without sanding, your printer should be able to print within tight tolerances. My own printer operates within a margin of .001, resulting in an extremely secure assembly. Glue is not strictly necessary, but can be applied if desired for added security. Given its design around the AKG K7xx, this stand should accommodate other k7 series headphones, such as the K712 and K701/K702 models. Print Settings: Printer: Full Custom Davinci Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 10-100% Notes: * A minimum bed width of 7.5 inches is required to print the lower part of the stand. While it's possible to use a smaller bed at an angle, I have not tested this configuration. This design allows for any infill percentage, but I strongly recommend no less than 25% for optimal performance. Additionally, ensure that your printer can produce accurate parts with near-spot-on tolerances.
