# AKG K171 MKII replacement holder part This part aims to act as a substitute for the original holder, which failed some years after I bought this headset (which is great, as a side note!). It 100% replaces the old part (took me 3 iterations for that) and provides a good maintain for the elastic band and the 2 electrical conductors. The main part itself can be used on both sides, left and right. Note that I used quite large tolerances to accommodate for printing inaccuracies (squeezed layers, etc.). It requires almost no clean up. There is largely enough room to solder the wires back in place with the holder fully fastened, so that's a time saver as well, and it holds the conductors securely in place. I would advise to put a drop or two of hot glue in order to really secure the part in place, and the conductors with it for longer service time. Lastly, there is a design for a sheet metal clamp, in case the hot glue does not do the job - or you don't like to mess up your builds with hot glue . The hole is there, and accepts the same types of screws as the one provided on the headset out of factory. # Resources If you need to modify those files, you shall be able to do so with FreeCAD here on my [github host project for 3D printed stuff](https://github.com/bebenlebricolo/3D-printing/tree/master/AKG%20K171mkII%20Holder)
