Convert Your Wired AKG to Bluetooth Using a Simple Bluetooth DAC. The FiiO BTR3 is a compact, portable device that combines a Bluetooth receiver with a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), all packaged in the size of a lighter. You'll need a short cable - specifically, a mini-XLR connector connected to a 3.5mm jack - to connect the BTR3 to your AKG headset. While a longer cable can work, it won't provide the most compact design. A better approach is to cut a cable with a 3.5mm jack and solder it directly inside the headset. The solder points are generously sized, making this task relatively easy. If you're looking for a more convenient solution, consider disassembling your AKG cup by twisting the mesh frame (a toothpick can come in handy here) and removing two screws. This should give you access to the necessary components. To ensure a secure fit, look for a 90° jack like the Neutrik NTP3RC-B plug featured in my images. When not using the BTR3, there's a convenient hole on top of the adapter that allows you to insert the jack and use your wired connection.
