Old Akai reel to reel tape decks like the X100, X150, 1700/1710 use a metal cam for play/record. These metal cam's crumble and fall apart over time. This is a cam I laser cut from 8mm acrylic. Original cams may have stalk/stop on the back side, this doesn't do anything so a flat cam works perfectly.
