Akagi

The Akagi was a state-of-the-art aircraft carrier commissioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy and formed part of the elite first air fleet (the Kido Butai). Initially constructed as an Amagi-class battlecruiser, it underwent a transformation to become a cutting-edge aircraft carrier due to the Washington Naval Treaty's strict regulations. The Akagi met its demise in the pivotal Battle of Midway on June 5, 1942.
