AirTraffic mount for Garmin G3X touch GDU 46X (10.6")
thingiverse
I needed to install an AirTraffic/Collision Avoidance system in my plane and was searching for the perfect location to mount it. My plane is also equipped with two Garmin G3X TFT screens, so I decided to install the AirTraffic module behind the second Garmin screen. This mounting position is ideal because all connected devices like transponders, power supplies, and Garmin G3X are nearby, allowing antennas to be mounted in the same location. Garmin provides four mounting holes at the back of their G3X screens, so I designed a cradle that fits perfectly into those holes. Secure the AirTraffic module to the cradle using cable ties. I'm using the AirTraffic module from AirAvionics (https://www.air-avionics.com/?page_id=253), but you can modify the cradle according to your specific system. Printing in ABS is recommended because it resists high temperatures that may occur under the instrument panel. You will need specialized bolts and washers to mount the cradle, here are some examples: * Bolt: https://www.aircraftspruce.eu/bolt-undrilled-an3-4a.htm * Washer: https://www.aircraftspruce.eu/washer-flat-an960-10.htm * Lock washer: https://www.aircraftspruce.eu/lock-washer-type-a-ms35333-39.htm
