Airtight Filament Spool Holder

This is a filament spoolholder providing a cheap and easy way to ensure Filament remains dry. Note: Updated due to feedback to allow more room between bottom of spool and spoolholder A-Frame. Also a non manifold mesh error on the A-Frame has been corrected. The problem with filament dry boxes is, if you are like me, you can never have enough of them. The very act of moving filament from a dry-box onto a spool holder, or into a spool-holder dry box allows more moisture to be introduced that will degrade the quality of the most sensitive filaments such as nylons. This solution allows each and every roll of filament to remain stored in an airtight container once and not removed until it has been used up. The filament is placed in an airtight “ ziplock or “press lock” bag, along with the axle and end caps and ball bearings. Large 2 litre Ikea double seal bags are good for this. A filament exit valve is fitted to the bag for the filament to protrude through. Note to fully seal the filament bag between uses, I keep some blu-tack handy, which can be used to fully seal around the filament sticking out of the filament outlet. When the filament needs to be used again, remove the blu-tack, pull a little filament through cut off a little filament (to avoid blu-tack residue on the filament being carried into the extruder). Also note there are two versions of the spool axle. One with ballbearings - especially useful for printing flex. One without - which is easier to produce, but is probably best limited to use with non flexible filament.
